A few weekends ago was the Texas Arts and Craft Festival in Ingram, Texas. A large number of high quality, Texas artists gather for this show on the grounds of “The Point.” Located on the Guadalupe River, and run by the Hill Country Arts Foundation, you will find a life-size, concrete Stonehenge II, performances year round, and a great art show at the end of September. I know this about the art because last year, I was a shopper! It was here that I met (for the 2nd time) my now good friend and art mentor, Deb Wight, www.debwightstudios.com. Right place at the right time!
This year, I applied and was selected to participate as one of the artists. Once invited to a show, I get to buy a “booth” or a spot to set up and as a first-timer, I never know where I will be placed. It so happens, that I was placed next to my favorite artist (aside from Deb of course) from last year’s show. Between setup on Friday and tear down on Sunday, one gets to know their neighbors. Stories are told, tips are shared and new friends are made. And sometimes, God makes a mighty move to bump two lives together for mutual encouragement and understanding. He did that in this case. Even though sales were slow, we were there for a special reason. Only God organizes the cosmos so perfectly and lovingly. He’s always on time, “working for the good of those who love him and have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28
